I know you can reverse osteoporosis, because I did it -the natural way, without any drugs

Yes, there is a natural way to reverse osteoporosis and I am a living proof!

Recently Jenna remarked, “Oh, but my doctor said you can’t reverse

The Natural Way to Reverse Osteoporosis

osteoporosis.” To which I responded, “I know you can, because I did it – -the natural way, without any drugs.”

Jenna insisted that her doctor had told her she should take a bisphosphate to prevent osteoporosis. And that if she did get osteoporosis she would be unable to reverse it.

How sad that there is so much ignorance about this condition.

I sympathized with her fear. No one wants to get osteoporosis. The statistics predict that…

One half of all women over fifty will have an osteoporosis related fracture…

The most common bone factures are the hip, spine, or wrist…

Of those who sustain a fracture due to osteoporosis, many will never completely recover…

No wonder Jenna was worried…

But once we realize that the cause of osteoporosis is a deficiency of proper nutrients, and proper exercise, the way to reverse it is to supply those nutrients and proper bone building exercises.

I have sustained two hip fractures. After the first one, the doctor informed me that he thought I had osteoporosis. Fortunately, there were no osteoporosis drugs at that time and no dexa bone scan to cause the doctor to prescribe a bisphosphonate drug.

I am forever grateful that I turned to nutrition and discovered the natural way to reverse osteoporosis and to rebuild strong bones.

My second fracture for the same hip, but about an inch below the first break was due to a freak accident. The surgeon who repaired it with a bolt and metal plate exclaimed to my husband after the surgery that he had to drill through where the first break had been and that it was, “like drilling through hard wood!” He later shared that with me and added, “If you keep on doing whatever you are doing, don’t let anyone ever tell you that you have osteoporosis.”

What a relief that was for me to hear. Assurance that I no longer had osteoporosis.

You can probably understand why I am so disturbed when I come across news items like the following:

(HealthDay News) — “Osteoporosis is a disease in which the bones become thin, frail and brittle, and may break easily.”

I do not believe osteoporosis is a disease. It is a condition that is not inherited and not permanent – if you really want to get better seriously enough to change your lifestyle. The best osteoporosis diet I can recommend can be found at this body building site. You can skip the muscles part and go to the eating part. It is very good!!

The best part of my story is that I am now 82 years old and have no limitations for walking or even running. I am very grateful and it is my desire to help you realize how you, too, can prevent or reverse osteoporosis the natural way.

Hoping for your abundant health,

When you hear of the need for weight lifting to increase bone density, do you imagine something like the Greek athletes in the picture at right?

You will probably be relieved to read the following quote from a post December 4th, 2009 on the blog of: Not Just A Man’s World–

“I originally started lifting weights to build up some bone density, so I’ve been fascinated to see that there have been several bone density studies carried out, published, or reviewed recently. Several of these have also piqued my interest because they have focussed on studies done in older men and women, especially those in their sixties. This is the population where osteopenia and osteoporosis start to reveal themselves.

“This is also the category that my mother fits into. My mother has undergone two hip replacements this year and has since been focusing hard on getting her muscles and joints working again at their best so that she can get back to doing the things she enjoys and enabling her to get the most out of life with minimal further damage to her body. We have been arming her with various mobility, stability and strength exercises recently and I am immensely proud of her determination and progress.

I have included this post to help my readers realize that weight lifting to increase bone density does not need to wait until after hip replacement. Rather, increasing bone density earlier may prevent hip replacement.

You will find other necessary steps for increasing bone density and preventing Osteopenia and Osteoporosis in

In as little as 30 minutes a week doing simple exercises at home, I have been able to increase the quality of my muscles, my bones and my life.

Is it really possible to get osteopenia from a lack of exercise?

Does the word exercise really frighten you? Do you immediately think of all the reasons you can’t exercise… You “can’t afford to join a gym”. You” don’t have the time.” You”don’t want to be out in the evening alone”…

Many years ago, when running became the popular fad, I heard an enthusiastic jogger say that anyone who did not run at least 5 miles a day was a “slob”.

As I resisted the idea of running at all, because I hate to sweat, I decided I would settle for “slob”.

Sedentary Lifestyle Contributes to Osteopenia

But after realizing that a sedentary lifestyle contributes to coronary heart disease, many types of cancer, type II diabetes, osteoporosis and osteopenia, I finally realized I needed some type of exercise.

And after suffering 2 broken hips, I began gathering all the information I could find about how to prevent bone fractures. Exercise was one thing that was absolutely necessary.

The more interested I became in health, the more anxious I was to find an exercise that I would enjoy. I tried exercise machines that I could use at home as a gym membership was not an option, but they required a lot of time and effort.

I wanted to find some kind of exercise that would not require hours of my time. I agree with Benjamin Franklin who said, “Do not squander time because that is the stuff life is made of.”

Slow Burn Fitness Revolution

So, I was thrilled when I learned of the Slow Burn Fitness Revolution by Fitness Expert Fred Hahn, Dr. Michael Eades and Dr. Mary Ann Eades. This book combines medicine, exercise science, and weight training, is the result of a collaboration between a pair of physicians with a long history in weight control and a well known fitness expert.

In their book the authors give instructions on how and why the system works and illustrations to show how to do the recommended routine. These exercises are being implemented in nursing homes and even helping patients that were confined to wheelchairs to develop the strength needed to escape from their chairs and begin walking again.

I have discovered that in as little as 30 minutes a week doing simple exercises at home, I have been able to increase the quality of my muscles, my bones and my life.

To quote one reviewer, “I can do this routine once a week and now have a life outside the gym.”

With millions of women over 45 developing osteoporosis and osteopenia, this is not a problem we can just ignore and hope it will go away.

Please leave your comments or questions below this article. I will appreciate the conversation.

A Good Osteopenia Diet and a Healthy Weight Loss Diet are The Same

a Good Osteopenia Diet

Your diet to correct osteopenia should be the same as a diet that provides healthy weight loss and maintainence.

A friend of mine was very worried when a bone scan showed that she had some bone loss. She asked me if I had any suggestions for a diet that would correct osteopenia and if a weight loss diet would interfere with her healthy bone goal.

She was surprised when I assured her that a healthy weight loss diet is exactly the same as a diet to prevent or reverse bone loss. One of her greatest errors in trying to lose weight was that she was avoiding fat. We need good fat in our diet to be healthy, to lose weight and also to have strong bones…

Eat Plenty of Eggs!

I encouraged my friend to eat lots of eggs for one of the best sources of protein to help her bones and her figure.

Contrary to what we often hear, the fat in eggs helps you to have a healthy heart. You may ask, “Don’t eggs have cholesterol?” Yes, they do have cholesterol. But they also have another ingredient called lecithin (less-i-thin) that prevents cholesterol from harming your arteries.

The great protein in eggs helps to make strong bones and helps with weight loss. One of the main requirements in a recent weight loss study was to eat 2 eggs each day for 6 weeks, and every person in the study lost weight – especially around the waist.

Calcium Cannot be Digested in your Body Without Fat.

Three very good fats are extra virgin olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil,
and butter also helps to digest carbohydrates.

So now you can see how much a Healthy Weight Loss Diet and a Good Osteopenia Diet have in common.

Many years later and quite by accident, I finally discovered the
“secret” to successfully keeping my weight steady.

Have You Tried All The Weight Loss Programs With No Long Term Success?

Keep Healthy Weight Loss

My sympathy goes out to anyone who has a problem keeping weight off. As a teenager, I was a “Yo-Yo Dieter”.

I tried all the weight loss methods of my day. And I really did lose weight! Every time!

My problem was that I gained it back easier than
I had lost it. Every time! I kept wondering, “WHY?”

After I got married and had my first child (that actually was “children” twins), I was constantly so busy and had so little sleep that I actually
lost weight. So I forgot about dieting for several years.

At 40 My Weight Problem Returned

My weight was not a problem again until I hit 40. All of a sudden, it
seemed as though everything I ate turned to fat. Unless you have
arrived at that magical milestone, you won’t understand. It’s the hormones.

Then it seemed the only logical thing to do, was to get on the diet bandwagon again, but that proved really discouraging. Many years later and quite by accident, I finally discovered the “secret” to successfully keeping my weight steady.

It is not counting calories or starving myself. In fact, I am almost ashamed to say that I have a very healthy appetite and really eat more than most of my friends who are overweight.

Secret Accidentally Discovered for Never Needing to
Diet Again

Actually, I got my weight to my healthy level without really trying. It happened when I started concentrating on learning what foods to eat and what I should avoid to become healthy. (I was tired of not feeling well.)

In fact, for the past 12 years, I have only weighed myself a couple of times
a year, and just for curiosity – or if I need to fill out a medical form or something.

Reducing Calories Never Causes Permanent
Weight Loss

I don’t care if you have used doctor’s prescriptions, pills, drinks, points or anything else in your attempt to get thin. Limiting food by counting your calories is a sure way to sabotage your desire to be thinner. The problem every time is that your body sets its thermostat to use a certain amount of calories to feed the size of your current body.

That means that if you start eating less calories, your body is confused and thinks it must be due to a famine, so it starts to burn less calories (the fuel it gets from food) and stores the rest. It is surprising how you soon start surviving on less food.

Of course, you will have less energy then, and also be very hungry but as long as you force yourself to stay on that diet, you will not store fat. However, after you reach your weight goal, and begin normal eating – guess what?

You guessed right, you will be eating more than your body’s thermostat is now set for, so the extra food will be stored for emergencies in the form of discouraging fat.

Thankfully I Learned About The Value of Protein

Thankfully, I learned the secret of how very important protein is for my body. Protein is needed by hair, skin, nails, muscle, nerves and every other cell in your body. So as I learned which food contain healthy protein, I started eating more of them. And to my surprise, I began to lose weight.

The secret is that my body was using more energy to digest protein than was in the food itself. This fact about protein makes it the number one weight loss food. Protein is also necessary to produce our immune cells to fight disease.

Two Kinds of Protein

But, there are complete and incomplete proteins, so don’t be fooled by labels on products. Meat, poultry, fish, cheese, milk, and eggs are the all-time best sources of complete protein –the kind your body can use in every cell.

The easy way to eat healthy, is to eat enough of these good proteins to keep your body strong (at least 20 grams with each meal) and then add enough fruits and vegetables (as many raw as possible) to fill you up. You can’t go wrong if you follow this eating plan and add a moderate amount of
whole grains– no white bread, pasta or rice– and good fats.

Necessary Fats

Good fat is necessary – you have no doubt heard about the “essential fatty acids”. They are called essential because we cannot live without them.

The most healthy fats are extra virgin coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, butter and avocados. Butter and eggs both contain nutrients that protect us from heart disease. During the years that they were unwisely tabooed in our country, heart disease increased at an alarming rate!

Whole grain breads are better for you if you spread butter on them than if you eat them plain. One of the main reasons for the high rate of obesity in our country has been the “fat free” products that flood our grocery stores.

The rate of increase in obesity has corresponded to the rate of increase
in these products.

If you follow the plan in this article, you will be surprised at how easy it becomes to not only lose weight, but to maintain your desired weight.

If you are convinced that you also need to cut down on amounts of food, you might want to try the new rage that is not a drug nor a “fat-blocker” but rather an all natural, tasteless and odorless food “sprinkle” that helps reduce the desire to overeat. I am not endorsing this product or selling it, but there is a website where you may try a free sample of this now if you are interested.
